The Head of Finance Appointment

Summary:
Pure Executive are delighted to be supporting Amadeus Capital Partners with the important appointment of their new Head of Finance. This is a crucial role overseeing all financial activities and contributing to their continued success.
We are looking for a talented individual, passionate about finance, technology and investing, who will lead the finance team, oversee Amadeus’ fund accounting and corporate finances and develop robust financial models, budgets and strategies as they continue to raise new funds and the business drives forward into its next phase.
Confident in networking, you will represent Amadeus at conferences, events, deliver presentations at our AGM (Investor Day) and broaden your skills into leadership of Investor Relations as you develop in the role.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering professional growth and continuous personal development
- Collaborate and work across the business with investment teams and operational teams to aid and enhance overall financial and business performance
Financial Leadership & Compliance
- Lead financial planning and analysis, including forecasting and budgeting and provide strategic recommendations
- Ensure effective robust financial controls, procedures and compliance exist to meet all financial regulations and industry standards
- Liaise with and manage external third parties e.g. Bankers, Auditors, Tax teams and Government bodies
Corporate Accounting and Financial Operations
- Oversee all financial and accounting operations for the UK and US entity
- Group & Corporate Tax Planning & Tax Return Management
- Ownership and leadership of managing the exit of quoted stock
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
Fund Management
- Leadership of fund accountants and overseeing the financial management of investment funds including fund accounting, valuations, performance, share reconciliations, treasury review and fund transfers
- Coordinate with investment teams to support due diligence and evaluate financial implications of potential investments, in particular tax structures and implications.
Investor Relations
- Manage relationships with investors on fund financial matters, distributions, drawdowns, tax reporting to investors and performance
- Regular liaison with Reporting Team on fund financials for quarterly/annual reports.
Key Qualifications and Competencies:
- A qualified accountant with progressive experience in finance combined with proven team leadership skills.
- A passion for technology, innovation and entrepreneurship who wants to be engaged in the Finance/VC/PE ecosystem and actively participate in networking events.
- Extensive knowledge of, corporate accounting, financial analysis and financial compliance. Fund accounting/regulated finance experience is advantageous though not essential.
- A strategic thinker with a robust financial acumen, ready to contribute to the growth and success of our firm and its portfolio companies.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills and highly detail orientated with an exceptional level of attention on data analysis to support decision making
- Highly organized and effective at time management and delivering to deadlines, managing multiple priorities and projects across different jurisdictions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- A successful mentor – playing a pivotal role in continuing to develop a high performing team.
- Highly proficient with financial software and IT systems, including advanced excel skills.
- Whilst advantageous, a background within, and an understanding of the venture capital industry and the unique financial challenges and opportunities it presents e.g. venture capital fund structures, investment processes and portfolio management is not essential.
